The North Shore is the best place for winter surfing on “monster waves”. Waves can reach up to 30 feet at Waimea Bay. As you drive down the North Shore and enjoy this beautiful countryside be sure to visit historic Hale’iwa town where you will find many unique gift shops, boutiques, restaurants, surf shops and art galleries.
The North Shore of Oahu is also an excellent place for snorkeling, diving, surfing, fishing, and from December to early May, whale watching. Within walking distance from Ke Iki Beach Bungalows, you will find Sharks Cove which is rated top 12 in the world by scuba Diving Magazine. This is a fantastic place to snorkel in the summer season. Don’t be alarmed, its name comes from the fin like shape of the lava rock that forms the cove. The nearby, Waimea Adventure Park, boasts 1,800 tropical acres of Hawaiian plants and exotic birds. There is something for everyone on the North Shore.

Ke Iki Beach Bungalows is located between Waimea Bay and Sunset Beach on the amazing North Shore of Oahu. Both prime spots are less than a 15 minute walk so you can have your pick of the best surfing Oahu has to offer.
Hanauma Bay Nature Park
Crystal clear water, abundant marine life and a living coral reef mean Hanauma Bay is one of the premiere snorkeling destinations in the islands any time of year. A gently sloping beach fronts directly on the horseshoe shaped bay, formed in the remains of Koko Head Crater, an ancient cinder-cone volcano, now breached and filled with sea water. Within this half-mile-wide bay are one of the prettiest reefs and the most abundant fish life in Hawaii.

Waimea Valley Adventure Park
One of last partially intact ahupua‘a on O`ahu, Waimea Valley consists of 1,875 acres and has been a sacred place for more than 700 years of Native Hawaiian history. Waimea, “The Valley of the Priests,” gained its title around 1090 when the ruler of O‘ahu awarded the land to the kähuna nui. Descendants of the high priests lived and cared for much of the Valley until 1886.
